Google Number one in global web searches

The comScore report of the Search Market tells us that 61 Billion was the number of Searches made in the month of august.

Worldwide search activity in August 2007 :

The Asia-Pacific region had 258 million unique searchers making 20.3 billion searches.Europe had 210 million searchers with 18 billion searches,followed by North America with 206 million searchers making 16 billion searches.

Top search properties:

Google ranked first with 37.1 billion searches.Out of this 5 billion searches were from Youtube.

Yahoo was at the second position with 8.5 billion searches.Baidu,the Chinese search engine was at the third place,with 3.2 billion searches.

This is what Bob Ivins,Executive vice president of International Markets, comScore said :

“Seeing Asian search engines like China’s Baidu.com and Korea’s NHN ranked alongside Google and Yahoo! underscores the fact that search has become a truly global phenomenon. The continued development of search in international markets will undoubtedly present compelling opportunities for savvy marketers on a global scale.”
