The BSE Sensex crossed the 20000 mark on Monday and closed at 19977 points,after the all time high of 20024 points.

The most interesting thing is that it took around 15 long years for the Sensex to go from 1000 points to 10000 points and it took only around one year and nine months to reach the 20000 mark.The Sensex reached the 1000 mark on 25th July 1990,the 8000 mark on 8th September 2005 and the 10000 mark on 7th February 2006.
