Coca-Cola wins Award for Corporate Social Responsibility

Coca-Cola India has won the Golden Peacock Global Award for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) , year 2008.Coca-Cola India made a good effort towards Water conservation ,Water management and community development activities.

Coca-Cola India as a socially responsible corporate citizen:

• Installation of 320 Rain Water Harvesting structures across 17 states.
• Restoring a number of traditional water bodies and check dams,for the purpose of water conservation.
• Coca-Cola India wants to to reach a net zero balance in terms of groundwater usage by the year 2009.
• A project known as Elixir of life,is going to to provide drinking water to around 30,000 children in 100 schools which are in and around Chennai.
• Coca-Cola India will set up a $10 million trust for corporate social responsibility.

Let us hope that more and more Companies realize the importance of Social Responsibility and come forward for giving something back to the society.
